- Quota usage is shared between both Email and Website files and Manual Backups.
- Account limits shown within cPanel are calculated hourly and may be a lagging indicator of your usage totals.
- Account limit totals include your accounts home folder, which contains your active email and web-files, but excludes deleted and trashed items from email accounts.
- Email accounts can (and should) have a maximum limit that is a reasonable percentage of what your account allows for.
- It is possible to size a mailbox bigger than what the global quota limits on your account allow - this will cause technical problems later.
The account-holder is responsible for sizing their mailboxes appropriately. - From time to time, the web server may warn you as you approach your account usage totals, take action sooner than later.
- If your quota were to become completely full, an account lockout may occur - this may incur charges on your account and or require a support ticket to resolve.
- Your usage quota should never be completely full. The maximum recommended usage of your account should be near 60% in order to allow the space that a full backup would require.
Accounts that exceed their storage quota can perform an upgrade thereby adding more quota to their account.
Upgrades are processed proportionately to the date of the month and take into account how many days left on your current hosting account you have left.
